When clients come in to consult about ADHD, an in-depth interview is first and foremost. During that first visit, the client (or parents) and Dr. Walker will determine what is necessary, assessment, treatment, or both.
Assessment can be an involved process. No one test will indicate whether or not an individual has ADHD. Many other issues can mimic symptoms of ADHD such as depression, anxiety, OCD, language issues, giftedness, and problems with auditory processing. Dr. Walker will explain this as well as the complete assessment process. She will also assist you in determining the amount that will be covered by your insurance company. Sometimes they
will pay for most of the testing, others times only a portion of it. You will need to pay for your portion of the assessment up front and we can work this out ahead of time, prior to starting the process so that you have a fair idea of your cost and time commitment.

In the future, Dr. Walker may be leading groups for adults with ADHD. Let her know if that is something you would like to consider.
